Here is a really great find in the history of American horse racing. This is a 400 piece jigsaw puzzle that portrays an image of a thoroughbred horse auction in Lexington Kentucky. It takes place at Keeneland, the World's largest horse auction house that also comes with a famous racetrack. The image is a painting by artist Henry R. Sutter, the title of the puzzle is "Horse Auction", and it is complete with all pieces and 3 extra, measuring 19" x 14" when completed. The box and puzzle have light wear but nothing serious. I am also including 2 postcards of Keeneland from the same era. One of the postcards depicts the exact same scene that is on the puzzle. It is photographed by Skeets Meadors who photographed the horse racing scene in Kentucky. In fact you could even say that the photo was probably used by the painter as reference for his image. The image looks to be from the 1940s to me, though there is no date. The second postcard is an image of the Racetrack and grandstands. The card is used and has a cancelled date of June 8th 1939. The woman writing the card mentions Bing Crosby's horse and other Movie Stars that attend Keeneland. Both postcards are in excellent vintage condition. I forgot to photograph the side of the box with the Company info. It reads "Copyright Jaymar Specialty Co., 200 Fifth Avenue,New York N.Y., Made in USA". Please take a look at my other items! All of my items are insured. Payment is due within two days of auction end. Shipping Fees are higher for International buyers, please inquire. Returns are given only if item has been erroneously portrayed in the listing's description. Return shipping is paid by the Buyer and must be made in 14 days. I give shipping discounts when you combine sales into one order. Thank You.
